An impressive waiter managed to keep hold of all four plates he was carrying after he slipped and fell to the floor in astonishing footage.

Jamie Shoebridge, 24, was waiting on a table at a steakhouse in Nottingham when he lost his footing and crashed to the ground during the lunchtime rush on February 9.

In a CCTV clip, Mr Shoebridge is seen walking from the kitchen towards a table with three plates balanced on his right arm and another meal held in his left hand.

But as he moves to turn a corner into the main restaurant, he slips on peppercorn sauce which had spilled on the ground and crashes to the floor.

As he falls, he brings a potted plant down with him, yet somehow manages to turn his body and avoid any of the plates hitting the ground.

He swiftly rights himself and passes the plates to his colleagues, before jumping back up to his feet.

The only casualty of the three roast beef dinners and the sausage and mash dish was one sausage and a few peas.

Restaurant supervisor Mr Shoebridge said he delivered the four meals as planned with the guests none-the-wiser to the near-disaster.

He said: ‘One minute I was walking along with the plates and the next minute I was on the floor. I lost my footing and fell down face first.

‘There was some peppercorn sauce on the floor and I slipped on it. It’s all a blur and I’m not sure how it happened.

‘It was just an instinct to lift my arms up and try to save the plates. I just got back up and carried on as normal.

‘I have no idea how none of the plates got smashed. I’m impressed with myself. The only thing that fell off the plate was one sausage and a few peas.’

After his fall, and he realised three of the meals were perfectly intact, he carried on with his trip to the table.

He added: ‘It didn’t hurt but I was very confused as to how it happened. We all had a laugh about it in the office.

‘It has become a bit of a running joke at work now.’
