Caroline Flack dies aged 40: Love Island stars Chris Hughes, Dr. Alex George and Wes Nelson lead the heartbreaking tributes to late host

  • Family has been informed and in a statement tonight said: ‘We can confirm that our Caroline passed away’ 
  • Tonight’s tragic news marks the third death of stars connected with the ITV2 dating show Love Island 
  • Flack’s death comes just weeks before she was due to go on trial for assaulting partner Lewis Burton 

Chris Hughes joined his devastated Love Island co-stars Dr. Alex George and Wes Nelson in leading tributes to Caroline Flack on Saturday.

The host was found dead at her London flat aged 40, her family has been informed and in a statement said: ‘We can confirm that our Caroline passed away.’

Chris led the heartbroken tributes as he tweeted: ‘Words can’t sum this up. So sad. Another amazing person taking from this cruel world…Can’t believe to imagine the pain. God bless Caroline and her family. Rest tight,’ followed by sad emojis. 

While Wes shared a photo of him and Caroline partying together over the summer in Ibiza.

He penned: ‘I can’t believe what I’m reading! Caroline Flack was an absolute diamond, my hearts genuinely broken! One of the warmest funniest people I’ve ever met, I have nothing but great memories! 

‘It was just weeks since we were chatting away… My tears, thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this extremely difficult time! I’m lost for words R.I.P ❤️.’
