One of Dominic Cummings’s new No. 10 advisers – brought in as part of his drive for ‘weirdos’ and ‘misfits’ – said access to a brain-enhancing drug is ‘probably worth a dead kid once a year’.
Andrew Sabisky was hired after Mr Cummings released an extraordinary blog post last month saying he wanted to shake up recruitment to No. 10 and has been attending Downing Street meetings for about week.
In an 2016 interview Mr Sabisky talks about modafinil – a drug usually used to tackle sleepiness due to narcolepsy but often used as a brain-enhancer.

Mr Sabisky addressed the drug’s side effects in children which includes a higher risk of Stevens-Johnson syndrome, a life-threatening condition in which a person’s skin dies and falls off.
He told an interview with School’s Week: ‘From a societal perspective the benefits of giving everyone modafinil once a week are probably worth a dead kid once a year.’
In the same interview, he said: ‘Eugenics are about selecting “for” good things.
‘Intelligence is largely inherited and it correlates with better outcomes: physical health, income, lower mental illness.

‘There is no downside to having IQ except short-sightedness.’
Mr Sabisky Tweeted: ‘I am always straight up in saying that women’s sport is more comparable to the Paralympics than it is to men’s.’
A government source told The Times: ‘He dresses just like Dom in a scruffy jumper and jeans.

‘He’s incredibly cocky and isn’t afraid of telling everyone what he thinks, however senior they are.’
Another source told the paper: ‘Nobody knows if he has clearance but has been bossing the prime minister around already.’
Downing street said Mr Sabisky was not a fully-fledged SPAD but rather a ‘contractor’ brought in for a specific project.
Mr Sabisky has been approached for comment.
