Forget the pink or blue cupcakes and questionable diaper party games – baby showers have had a makeover.
And showing just how far they have come, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and his husband Justin Mikita threw a truly extravagant party on Saturday, ahead of the arrival of their new baby.
Featuring themed cocktails, hunky synchronised swimmers, and a poolside performance by Broadway singer Shoshana Bean, the day couldn’t have been more fabulous.
Among the guest were Jesse’s Modern Family co-stars Sarah Hyland and Sofía Vergara, as well as Lisa Rinna and a hole host of television royalty.

But the real entertainment came in the form of the Aquawillies, a group of male synchronized swimmers.
The hunky performers graced the guests with a wild routine in Ferguson and Mikita’s backyard pool to a medley of Britney Spears and other artists.
For the bash Hyland cut a springtime chic look in a flowy navy blue dress with spaghetti straps and a white print of hand-drawn naked women in flowers.
She accessorized the look with round gold-framed sunglasses, matching hoop earrings and necklace and a pair of nude chunky heels.
The actress carried a red leather Christian Dior handbag, as she showed off her $200k five-karat engagement ring from Wells Adams.
She was joined by her friend Ben Lewis and his husband Blake Lee outside the Los Feliz mansion as she gave her car keys to the valet.

Ferguson revealed last month on The Late Late Show with James Corden that he and Mikita are preparing for parenthood.
He told Corden and fellow guest Charlie Hunnam: ‘This is something I haven’t even mentioned to anyone, if we could just keep it between the three of us and you all, but I’m actually expecting a baby in July with my husband.’
The Modern Family star added: ‘I’m very excited, but it feels like I’m 44 now, let’s get this show going. Tick tock.’
When asked if they were having a boy or a girl, he humorously told Corden: ‘A human.’
He and Mikita got married in 2013 at a ceremony in New York City, officiated by playwright Tony Kushner.
