Married At First Sight remains an unbeatable ratings juggernaut.

However, according to Mumbrella, the social media experiment managed to win its time slot with a whopping 1.103 million metro viewers.

The star power of the Fire Fight Australia, which featured the likes of John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John, proved good competition, with 1.006 million metro viewers.

Married At First Sight also managed to gain the top spot when it came to the demographics, winning the desired 25-54, 18-49 and 16-39 age groups.

But it was a different story for the competing programs nationally, with Married At First Sight attracting 1.482 million viewers, compared to the Fire Fight Australia’s 1.510 million.

The success of the star-studded event saw Seven win the day with a 38 per cent of the audience.

Despite drawing in 593,000 viewers last week, it only managed 327,000 metro viewers on Sunday evening.
