The series follows three Mexican-American cousins living in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles and the grandfather who raised them while running a taco shop.

The cousins are played by Karrie Martin, Joseph Julian Soria and Carlos Santos.
According to Variety, Martin plays Ana, a queer artist torn between loyalty to her home and her desire for recognition.
Soria plays Erik who wants to stay put but finds himself being pulled away from his comfort zone by new responsibilities.
Santos plays Chris, an aspiring chef raised in a white community who left Boyle Heights at a young age and has returned for what he intends to be a brief sojourn.
