This is the adorable moment George the goose is introduced to his new ‘girlfriend’ Florence – and the pair waddle off into the distance together.

The clip, posted to Twitter by Dolly Theis, captures George as he loiters around a plastic goalpost in a garden in Cambridge.

Moments later, a man opens a cardboard box nearby to reveal a second goose, Florence, who is huddled inside.

As George spots his new friend, he flaps his wings wildly, before Florence emerges from the box and the pair begin to cautiously make their way over to each other.

The excited geese quickly speed up their movements, before breaking into a run as they greet each other and disappear into the distance.

Alongside the clip, Ms Theis said: ‘Just found this of when we bought our goose George a girlfriend called Florence and it was love at first sight’.

She then shared photographs of the ‘happy couple’ together following their initial meeting, much to the delight of her followers.

In one of the images, George and Florence are seen sipping on rainwater which had gathered on a metal table.

Another showed the pair napping together in the grass, with a third capturing George ‘showing off’ as he stood on one leg in front of his new ‘girlfriend’.

‘Also can’t cope with George showing off in front of Florence with his one leg trick,’ Ms Theis said.
