Myles Stephenson has suffered a ‘setback’ in his recovery after his horrific snowboarding accident


Myles Stephenson has suffered a setback in his recovery after having a horrific snowboarding accident on Thursday, his mother has revealed.   

The Rak Su singer, 28, broke two ribs and ruptured his spleen after the incident in Pasa de la Casa, Andorra. 

And on Friday,  the singer’s mother logged onto his Instagram account to share the update Myles had ‘had a bit of a setback’ after blood had to be drained from around his lungs.

His mum shared the message on an Instagram story that read: ‘Myles has had a bit of a setback today. He has a heamothorax and needed a chest drain.

‘He is still thinking of you all and still getting grumpy with his mummy.’ 

Shortly after the accident on Thursday the singer took to Instagram from his hospital bed in ICU to tell fans he had been suffering internal bleeding which had been stopped. 

Detailing what happened as he rested in hospital, with tubes still attached to his face and body, he said: ‘Hey whats up people, look a bit worse for wear don’t I?

‘Thank you for your messages, basically, as you know, I broke a few ribs, I’ve ruptured my spleen, and have some internal bleeding that has stopped now, I’m just chilling out in ICU, its like a 5 star ICU it’s amazing. 

‘Thank you for all the messages, and my mum and the rest of my family are getting through this day in and day out, always tell your loved ones you love them, peace.’

Before sharing his video, Myles wrote on Instagram: ‘Life is precious people! Cherish every single piece of it! A few days ago I had a bad boarding accident.

‘I have concussion, 2 broken ribs and a punctured spleen which resulted in internal bleeding! I have seen progression in good health and Thank god I am doing okay! 

‘Thank you to the nurses, doctors and especially my family for treating me like a prince! I love you all.’

Going on to talk about his family’s reaction, he added: ‘Lessons learned from this accident is! MUM IS ALWAYS RIGHT AND NEVER TRY fight THAT! Lol. 

‘That my brothers love me. Step dads still a t*** and he rest of My family thought they could to some covert Rambo mission to get out here (sic)’

Myles went on to share a number of messages of support that fans sent to him, as he showed his gratitude for their concern after what had occurred.

Going onto Twitter on Thursday to reassure fans, Myles said: ‘Hey guys, im on the mend slowly but surely. 

‘The internal bleeding has stopped and it’s only pain that I have to fight with now. thank you for your messages they mean a lot and your milo isn’t going anywhere just yet (sic)’

The star has previously shared a video of himself snowboarding without a helmet while attempting ramps in the French Alps in March last year.

He then shared a picture of the ‘damage’ caused by a fall while attempting a manoeuvre.  

Boarding down steep descents the daredevil did not appear to be phased by the dangerous drops.
