Wendy Williams shows up to premiere of Spotify’s New Cash Order docu-series in NYC… after controversial joke about killing of Drew Carey’s ex

She drew some harsh criticism earlier this week when she made a tasteless joke on her daytime chat show about the death of Drew Carey’s ex fiancee Dr. Amie Harwick.

But Wendy Williams isn’t letting the bad press cramp her style.

The 55-year-old TV personality showed up to a premiere in New York Thursday night for the Spotify four-episode docu-series New Cash Order.

The series that drops on Spotify on Friday tells the story of Cash Money Records founded in 1991 by brothers Bryan and Ronald Williams, better known as Birdman and Slim.

The hip-hop label’s recording artists have included Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj.

For the screening, Williams chose an eye-catching ensemble of a low-cut black jumpsuit with tasseled bottoms.

She added a bright yellow windbreaker that she wore unzipped and a Louis Vuitton Bumbag.

Williams made a tasteless Price Is Right joke on her show Monday, hours after it was revealed that well-known therapist Harwick was killed in a domestic violence incident at her home in the Hollywood Hills.

Harwick, 38, was allegedly thrown from the third-floor balcony of her home in the early hours of Saturday and an autopsy Thursday stated her body showed signs of manual strangulation in addition to blunt force trauma.

Her ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse, 41, has been charged with murder and is scheduled to be arraigned on March 4.

Pursehouse is accused of lying in wait inside Hawick’s residence before he killed her,  a special circumstance that could qualify the case for the death penalty, prosecutors said.

On her Monday show, Williams made a cheap shot referencing Hawick’s ex Carey’s role as host of TV’s The Price Is Right.

Talking about the crime, Williams told her audience: ‘She was killed… not by Drew, but by the ex … come on down.’

As she yelled ‘come on down’, she looked toward the ground as if watching something fall, drawing gasps of shock from those watching in the studio.

Harwick’s brother Chris Harwick told Fox News in a statement Wednesday: ‘Domestic violence is something no one should be joking about.’

‘This is a difficult time for my family and for Wendy Williams to make light of this tragedy is very upsetting to us and extremely distasteful,’ he said. ‘Wendy Williams should apologize publicly to my family for her comment.’

Harwick and Carey were briefly engaged in 2018 but later ended their romantic relationship and remained friends.
