Beau Ryan reveals he and wife Kara ha concerns about him appearing on Dancing With The Stars

Beau Ryan has revealed that he to sit down with his wife Kara Orrell and discuss whether or not he should appear on reality show Dancing With The Stars.

The 34-year-old former rugby star,  who was famously embroiled in a cheating scandal with Hi-5 star Lauren Brant in 2015, had to consider that he may be untruthfully linked to his dance partner, he told The Daily Telegraph on Saturday.

Beau said: ‘I was always going to be rumoured to be too close to my partner or whatever to them. We were ready for that. I spoke to Kara about it and as long as Kara is all right, I don’t care about anyone else.’

The footy player, who is partnered with professional dancer Megan Wragg on the show, added: ‘It doesn’t matter who I was with, if I was paired with a man the gossip magazines would say I was gay.’

Kara’s consent was paramount he said, revealing:  ‘If Kara didn’t give it the green light, I was never going to do it.’

Last year, Beau named the new host of Australia’s rebooted reality show The Amazing Race and he admitted Kara had reservations about him taking on the jet-setting gig.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph  at the time, Beau described his six-week filming stint: ‘Looking back at it now, [Kara] probably had reasons and anyone would have concerns when I was away for that long.’

‘But if it was a test, we passed,’ the TV larrikin added, confirming that the couple are stronger than ever.

Reflecting on the infamous 2015 scandal’s affect on his marriage, Beau told the publication: ‘We’ve been to hell and back, as you know, but I’ve grown a lot as a person’.

Beau and former Hi-5 star Lauren were accused by Brant’s partner at the time, Warren Riley, of having an affair when they met on Aladdin and his Wondrous Lamp stage production in 2015.

The alleged affair came one year after he retired from NRL following an ongoing neck injury.

In March 2016, Kara explained to Woman’s Day magazine that when the news broke, amid all the drama, she was more worried about her man than herself.

‘I was actually more worried for Beau, if I’m honest,’ she said.

Saying he was still a good man and a good father to their daughter Remi, she explained: ‘The grass isn’t always greener, and while it was a difficult situation, running from anything in life is never the answer.’

The beauty added the media glare was tough to go through for them both.

‘I’m probably emotionally stronger than Beau, and I could see how upset he was, so I was more concerned for him and our family.’
