Janette wrote: ‘My favourite photo of hers… ❤️ Today marks a week since I found out my beauty @carolineflack has died. I have taken time away from social media & TV to process this tragic loss and had loads of time to think about our times together w/o all of the cluster.

‘And I keep coming back to the same conclusion…. she was incredible!! ✨I want to continue spreading her love, her laughter, and making the people that I encounter feel the way that she made me feel…. AWESOME!

‘I love you so much my dear friend. I hope you have found peace, and that we can find a way to create peace for all of us in this world. #BeKind.’

The post was quickly liked by thousands of Janette’s followers, with one noticeable addition being Caroline’s boyfriend Lewis.

Caroline killed herself after a worried friend who was staying with her went to the shops, leaving the ex-Love Island presenter alone at her London flat.

It came just hours after she was told she would face trial for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend Lewis – a claim she denied.

Her management slammed the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for pursuing the ‘show trial’ after former tennis player Lewis, 27, said he did not want to press charges.

The ex-sportsman claimed she hit him with a lamp at her former home in Islington in December before asking the CPS not to press charges.

Caroline had been described by friends as feeling ‘she was on her own’ and ‘couldn’t see a way out,’ according to The Mirror. It was also understood she had been struggling with her mental health and using anti-depressants before her death.

The TV presenter’s death was confirmed by a lawyer for the family. The Flack family said in a statement: ‘We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today on the 15th February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time.’

Since news of Caroline’s passing, celebrities and fans alike have paid tribute to the star, while ITV aired an emotional tribute to Caroline during Monday night’s episode of Love Island.

The show had been cancelled over the weekend, but returned with Love Island voice-over Iain Stirling sharing a statement to honour Caroline, who he had worked closely alongside over the last few years.

‘Caroline and me, we were together from the very start of Love Island, and her passion, warmth and infectious enthusiasm were a crucial part of what made the show connect with millions of viewers,’ he said.

‘Like many of you, right now we’re all just trying to come to terms with what has happened. My only hope is that we can all try and be kinder, always show love, and listen to one another.

‘Caroline, I want to thank you for all the fun times we had making our favourite show. You were a true friend to me. I’m gonna miss you Caz.’
