Chrissy Teigen has hit back at ‘annoying’ trolls who slammed her for allowing her daughter Luna, three, to play with their pet hamster.

On Saturday, the model, 34, uploaded an adorable clip of her oldest child stroking Peanut Butter, but was met with backlash after some of her social media followers accused her of giving her daughter permission to ‘mistreat’ the animal.

Responding to the comments on Twitter, the Sports Illustrated star – who shares Luna and Miles, 21 months, with husband John Legend – shut down the claims as she branded critics ‘annoying’ and joked: ‘This hamster is rich and thriving and performing opera.’ [sic]

Their family in my home. @chrissyteigen Makes me sad to hear parents are allowing kids to mistreat animals.’

Injecting a hint of her signature humour into her response, the mother-of-two penned: ‘I thought I’ve heard it all but slothful is new, thank you.’

‘U guys are so annoying and complain about every f*****g thing in the world. can you hear yourselves? Please listen to yourselves. this hamster is rich and thriving and performing opera’, an annoyed Chrissy added.

Earlier this week, the blonde beauty admitted she receives ‘a lot of criticism’ about the food she feeds her children, as well as car-safety and their TV habits.

The Chrissy’s Court star told the Today show: ‘Any time I post a picture of them holding ribs or eating sausage, I get a lot of criticism.

‘Vegans and vegetarians are mad and feel that we’re forcing meat upon them at a young age. They freak out.

‘If they get a glimpse of the car seat, there is a lot of buckle talk. Maybe for one half of a second, the strap slipped down. And TV is another big one. We have TV on a lot in my house. John and I work on television; we love watching television.’

The TV star also admitted she puts herself under pressure when it comes to her parenting skills.

However, the former Lip Sync Battle host has now become more philosophical about the everyday stresses of motherhood after learning she ‘can’t take anything personally.’

Chrissy — who has been married to Grammy-winning musician John, 41, since 2013 — explained: ‘When Luna was a little baby, I would get so sad.

‘I remember being bummed out because I felt like she didn’t love me as much as she loved John. It was the dumbest silliest thing to worry about.

‘Now, when Miles pulls away from me, I’m not taking it the same way. I know how strong Luna and my bond is, and I know Miles and I will be there too. You can’t take anything personally.’
