Kate Hudson chats about her weight loss struggle with Oprah Winfrey


She welcomed daughter Rani Rose with her partner Danny Fujikawa in October 2018.

And Kate Hudson opened up about her struggle to lose the baby weight as she chatted with Oprah Winfrey onstage Saturday at the San Francisco stop of her 2020 Vision World Tour, sponsored by WW (formerly Weight Watchers).

‘I just had a baby, and it was really, honestly because I wanted to get behind something like this had a community that was so inspiring,’ she said of her 25lbs weight loss using the WW program in 2018.

‘I think that is a huge part of any wellness journey.’

Kate also had some sweet words of praise for her mother Goldie Hawn, who’s been in a long-term relationship with Kurt Russell since 1983.

‘She’s such an extraordinary light being,’ the actress said.

She said she inherited an ‘optimistic gene’ from her famously cheerful mother, though she admitted it had limitations.

‘I recognize it’s something that you do have to continually work at. I am sometimes to a fault optimistic,’ she said.

‘Sometimes it’s like, “Stop being optimistic!”‘ she joked.

The Almost Famous star wowed Oprah when she revealed one of her secrets for a happy family life was putting her phone away at 5pm every day, though she admitted that she doesn’t always live up to her ideals.

After engaging the crowd, the women needed to cool off with a drink in Oprah’s dressing room.

Luckily, Kate brought along a bottle of her own vodka label for them to shoot.

‘Kate, I drank more than you,’ Oprah said as she pressured the Deepwater Horizon star to tip back the rest of her shot glass.

‘Maybe this is how I should end all my shows…with vodka shots!’ she joked in her Insta Stories.
