Married At First Sight star Carly Bowyer slams show’s experts

‘It’s virtually impossible to find love’: Former Married At First Sight star Carly Bowyer criticises the show’s experts for their matchmaking skills

She failed to find love with ice cream entrepreneur Justin Fischer on the 2018 season of Married At First Sight.

And Carly Bowyer criticised the show’s experts John Aiken, Mel Schilling and Dr Trisha Stratford for their poor matchmaking skills, in an interview with The Daily Telegraph’s Confidential on Sunday.

The 34-year-old issued a warning to those who are considering starring on the program, saying that it’s ‘virtually impossible’ to find love on reality TV.

‘I would say don’t go on a reality show to find love, you’re probably not going to find it. It’s virtually impossible,’ Carly told Confidential.

‘The couples know nothing about each other, they’re [matched] by experts who don’t know them either so it’s pretty bloody unlikely,’ she continued.

Carly, who is now dating actor Neil Goldsmith, added that the experience ‘was so much more full on’ than she expected, and was ‘naive going into it’.

It comes after this season’s lesbian bride Tash Herz, 31, blasted the show’s experts for matching her with Amanda Micallef, 34.

Appearing on Channel Nine’s Today on Tuesday, the tattooed bartender questioned why John, Mel and Trisha paired her with someone so ‘incredibly incompatible’.

‘I have had so many people that know me so well just go, “What were they thinking?”‘ she lamented.

‘We have different fight styles. She is really aggressive. I don’t care, call it passionate, it’s not passion it’s aggression,’ said Tash of her fiery clash with Amanda on a previous episode.

‘And I just can’t be around that kind of level of anger because I do shut down, which is ironic because it’s the opposite of what she was trying to pull out of me,’ she added.

Since Married At First Sight Australia began airing in 2015, only three out of 48 couples are still together.

Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant of 2019’s season tied the knot in a legally-binding ceremony in November last year, while 2019’s Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli, along with 2016’s Erin Bateman and Bryce Mohr are still dating.

Married At First Sight continues Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine.
