Judd Apatow proudly joins daughter Maude Apatow at a screening of Ryan Murphy’s latest Netflix series Hollywood

Judd Apatow was all the proud father as he escorted daughter Maude, 22, to the premiere screening of Ryan Murphy’s Netflix mini-series Hollywood on Sunday evening.

Maude, who appeared in the popular HBO series Euphoria in 2019, will return to the small screen as fictional character Henrietta in Murphy’s latest television creation.

The series, hitting the streaming platform on May 1, will follow ‘aspiring actors as they attempt to navigate the changing industry’ in Los Angeles post-World War II.

Maude will star alongside actor Darren Criss, as well as other Ryan Murphy realm alums David Corenswet, Patti LuPone, and Dylan McDermott.

The 22-year-old looked radiant in a high-necked floral mini-dress, which she layered with a pale pink blazer.

Her brunette tresses were neatly styled into an elegant half-up, half-down ‘do, that allowed shutterbugs to get a look at the young actress’ enviable bone structure.

Maude kept her makeup to a minimum and opted for a classically beautiful bold lip and soft shadow combo.

She rounded out her screening ensemble with a satin champagne toned clutch and a pair of hot pink ankle strap pumps.

Judd looked sharp in a black blazer, which he paired with dark denim jeans and a blue-grey button-down dress shirt.

Hollywood is Murphy’s second series with Netflix, first hitting the platform in 2019 with his comedy-drama The Politician, which starred Broadway alum Ben Platt and Bohemian Rhapsody actress Lucy Boynton.

Maude was joined by fellow series castmates Michelle Krusiec, David Corenswet, Jeremy Pope, Laura Harrier, Maude Apatow, Jake Picking and Dylan McDermott at the screening held at the San Vicente Bungalows.

According to Murphy, ‘each character [in the show] will face different biases that are often seen in Hollywood, including discrimination based on race, gender and sexuality.’

The idea for the series was a collaborative effort between Criss and Murphy who were not in attendance at the evening’s screening.

‘Ryan and I had dinner where he shared that he wanted to do a period piece that was young and optimistic. We landed on the idea of a series covering several narratives from 1940s Hollywood. Two days later Netflix bought it. Not only is that a testament to the magic of Ryan Murphy, it’s a reminder of the kind of thing that can only happen in Hollywood…literally,’ wrote Criss of the show’s origin on his Instagram back in September.
