The Academy Award-winning star of The Revenant donned a black ballcap and had a backpack strapped on during his outing in the city, as the tourist did not appear to recognize the helpful celeb.

Connolly, 45, donned a black coat with black leather gloves, khaki pants and white sneakers.

The actor, best known for playing Eric Murphy on Entourage, had a lollipop on hand as he hung out with the The Wolf of Wall Street star, who blended in on the February day.

DiCaprio’s friendship with Connolly dates back decades, as it was famously mentioned in Leo, Prince of the City, a 1998 NY Magazine piece on that followed the actor and his circle of acting pals in the wake of his breakout with the success of Titanic.

The group of club circuit regulars, also included Lukas Haas, Tobey Maguire, Ethan Suplee, filmmaker Harmony Korine and magician David Blaine was dubbed ‘The P**** Posse.’

Connolly laughed off the nickname in a 2016 chat with The Daily Beast, saying no one in the circle of pals had made up the nickname, but rather the story’s author, Nancy Jo Sales.

‘The truth of the matter is [Sales] coined that phrase, and it stuck,’ he said. ‘Hand on the Bible as we sit here, never did myself or any of our friends refer to ourselves as The P**** Posse. She wrote it in an article, and it stuck.’

He continued: ‘There was this idea that we were rolling around referring to ourselves as that, and that’s just not true. It would be absolutely ridiculous. But she said it, and it stuck.’

The actor said that if he and his pals ‘did say that in passing it would be something we’d have to live with,’ but they ‘never said that,’ adding, ‘But it was a good time.’
