Disappointed Londoners took to Twitter today to post hilarious memes about the underwhelming amounts of snow they woke up compared to the storms predicted by forecasters.

The Met Office issued severe weather warnings for ice and snow from last night until midday today, urging drivers to take care on the roads from the Shetland Islands north of Scotland all the way down to the capital.

Twitter users quipped that schools would have to send children home and the Tube, buses and trams would soon grind to a halt unable to deal with a tiny smattering of the white stuff.
