‘We’re united in our approach’: Katy Perry says she’s a ‘bridechilla’ rather than a ‘bridezilla’ as she plans wedding to Orlando Bloom – and reveals her fiancé ‘brings out her best self’
Katy Perry got engaged to Orlando Bloom on Valentine’s Day last year.
And as she graces the cover of Sunday’s Stellar magazine in Australian newspaper The Daily Telegraph, the American pop star said she’s far from being a ‘bridezilla’.
The 35-year-old revealed that the couple are ‘united’ in their approach to their 2020 wedding, and that the American actor, 43, challenges her to be her ‘best self’.

‘I call myself a ‘bridechilla’ as opposed to a ‘bridezilla’. Orlando and I are united with our approach,’ Katy said of their upcoming nuptials.
‘It’s not about the party, it’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Because it’s really great and then it’s really hard.’
‘Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self,’ Katy went on to add of Orlando.
Katy and Orlando first started dating in early 2016, but split in February 2017.

The couple reconciled in April 2018, and the Pirates of the Caribbean star popped the question in a romantic Valentine’s Day proposal the following year.
Katy showed off her stunning ruby and diamond engagement ring to Instagram at the time, and wrote in the caption: ‘Full bloom’.
Orlando revealed on Sunday Today with Willie Geist in August that he doesn’t want to get divorced a second time.

‘It’s important to me that we are aligned. I’ve been married and divorced and I don’t want to do it again,’ he said. ‘And we’re both fully aware of that.’
‘She’s remarkable and so I’m always impressed with that and I’m encouraged,’ Orlando added.
Katy was previously married to English comedian Russell Brand back in 2010, but split just a year later.

Orlando wed Australian Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr in 2010, divorcing in 2013. They share nine-year-old son Flynn.
Katy is scheduled to perform at the ICC Women’s World Cup Final in Melbourne on March 8th.
The songstress will debut new music during the highly-anticipated show, which coincides with International Women’s Day.
