His bout in Sin City marked the first time Fury has held an official title since defeating Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

But after dethroning the veteran Ukrainian, Fury admitted he had battled with depression and ballooned to roughly 28 stone in weight.

The following months after ending Klitschko’s 10-year reign were consumed by heavy drinking and suicidal thoughts, and Fury was forced to relinquish his titles after a failed drugs test.

The 31-year-old then conquered his demons after pledging to become the heavyweight champion once again, and battered Wilder from pillar to post in the duo’s highly-anticipated rematch.

Before training for his first encounter with the Bronze Bomber, Fury weighed in at 378lbs. But Fury brought coach Ben Davison into his team, hired a nutritionist and was able to fight off the fat during a hectic training regime.

Fury shed 10 stone before tussling with Wilder for the WBC title for the first time in December 2018.

And ahead of the second bout, the drastic changes Fury made to his regime were laid bare, with camp manager Timothy Allcock revealing: ‘We definitely had to rope in the food. Tyson never really stuck to the diet plan we gave him last time, he was always nipping out and eating fast food outside the camp – and all that has changed now.’

Fury weighed in at 273lbs – 19.5 stone – for the rematch, and demolished Wilder with a devastating showing – forcing his opponent to trigger a trilogy fight, which is pencilled in for the summer.

His inspirational story has resulted in invitations to meet Donald Trump at the White House and Pope Francis at the Vatican.
