Ellen DeGeneres teaches fans how to wash their hands to prevent the Coronavirus

Ellen DeGeneres is doing her part to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus by teaching her audience how to wash their hands.

The 62-year-old host joked that you should avoid places with a lot of people in an enclosed environment with people who have traveled, just like her studio where several of her guests came in from out of town.

She added that the World Health Organization released a list of seven steps on how to wash your hands properly, which she demonstrated for her audience.

After bringing out her handy ‘mobile sink’ she started demonstrating the proper steps, starting with, ‘Wet hands and apply enough liquid soap to create a good lather.’

After getting a good lather, she moved on to the second step, ‘Rub palms together,’ which she did vigorously, but she was confused with the third step, ‘Rub the back of your hands.’

‘Does anybody rub the back of your hands? Have you done that before?’ she asked, while rubbing the backs of both hands together.

She added, ‘And also, you’re supposed to wash your hands for 20 seconds, or the time it takes to sing Happy Birthday twice.’
