Kate Middleton steps out in £1,567 Alessandra Rich dress as she dons full green outfit in Ireland

The Duchess of Cambridge excelled at diplomatic dressing today as she stepped out in a full green outfit for her first official visit to the Republic of Ireland.

Kate Middleton, 38, wore a £1,567 designer dress by Alessandra Rich, a brand loved both by Kate and her younger sister Pippa, 36, as she arrived at Dublin Airport alongside Prince William, 37, this afternoon.

The mother-of-three paired the silk midi dress with a chic forest green Catherine Walker coat and a matching pair of heels and clutch-bag.

The royal complimented her stylish outfit with a sophisticated black velvet hairband, an accessory which has become a fast-favourite of the Duchess over the past year.

The bold green dress is perfect for the diplomatic visit, with a demure length, pleated detailing and a peplum waist which Kate looks to carries it off with her usual style.

Unfortunately for royal fans, the dress, which perfectly complimented Prince William’s emerald green tie, is sold out on Net-a-Porter.

The Duchess paired the outfit with an emerald green coat from royal favourite Catherine Walker, complementing the colour blocked ensemble with green high heels and a green clutch bag.

She added a touch of glitz to the ensemble with a new pair of glamorous Asprey daisy earrings, which feature diamond petals set in 18ct white gold.

Alessandra Rich has become one of the royal’s favourite designers over the past few years, with the Duchess often opting for midi dresses by the brand for special occasions.

She donned a festive red £1,455 designer dress when she joined Prince William, Mary Berry and Nadiya Hussain to bake roulades for the TV special A Berry Royal Christmas in December.

And she has worn a £1,750 navy and white polka dot midi on a number of previous occasions, including for Prince Charles’s official 70th birthday portraits last year.

Kate later wore the dress for a visit to Second World War codebreaking headquarters Bletchley Park, near Milton Keynes, in May.

The style was famously worn by Meghan Markle’s close friend and former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding in May last year and became an A-list favourite over the summer.

Pippa Middleton wore the same dress in a different colourway for nephew Prince Louis’ Christening in July last year.

The couple flew to Dublin Airport on a commercial Aer Lingus flight with dozens of residents returning home, business travellers and tourists.

William and Kate are expected to sample a pint of Guinness later when they meet leading figures from Irish life.

At the Gravity Bar in the Guinness Storehouse – a major visitor attraction in the Irish capital telling the story of the famous drink – the couple are due to meet a range of people from the creative arts, sport, business and charity sectors.

During the first day of their tour the Cambridges will also lay a wreath at the Garden of Remembrance. The quiet open space is dedicated to those who rose up against British rule in 1916 and gave their lives for Irish independence.

They will return to the UK on Friday, meaning they will miss Prince Harry’s Endeavour Fund Awards in London, which the Duke of Sussex will be attending with Meghan Markle. William attended the inaugural ceremony in 2017 but has not been for several years.
