Teen Mom OG star Amber Portwood has seen a silver lining in a dark cloud.
The star said she has lost 35lbs since being arrested in July for assaulting her boyfriend at he time Andrew Glennon while he was holding their baby. The reality TV fixture explained to UsWeekly it was mostly the stress that made her stay away from food.
This comes just before her show Teen Mom OG comes back. In the season premiere, she is seen breaking down in tears over her arrest.

The baby is now 22 months old.
‘I got into a really, really dark period for a couple of months,’ she told the site. ‘I lost about 35 pounds in less than three months. My hair was falling out.
‘When I say I went into shock, I literally, my body went in shock. I didn’t sleep for almost two weeks. I had to get out of that state of mind.’
Sadness brought on the change. ‘It was definitely a deep depression that I went through,’ she continued.
‘Through prison and everything I’ve been through, it was one of the worst times of my life, and when you go through something like that, you have to learn from your mistakes.’

In a teaser for the new season of her show Teen Mom OG, she tells ex Gary Shirley that she is mad at herself for flipping out.
‘The No. 1 regret that I have is that I did not walk out of the house that night. Now I look back and I’m so ashamed because all I keep thinking about is, Amber, you should have walked out of the house,’ she told ex whom she has an 11-year-old child with.
‘There are limits to somebody with mental health disorders. There’s only so much somebody like me can handle and people like me will understand that. … I just have a lot of guilt of not being aware of myself more than I should have.’

Friends are seen calling Andrew.
He tells then, ‘It’s giving me anxiety, to be honest with you, It’s hard to go to sleep. It’s a total mess. It’s completely spiraled out of control, I feel like, and it’s really frustrating.’
Teen Mom OG returns to MTV Tuesday, March 17, at 8 p.m. ET.
Portwood was arrested on domestic violence charges against Glennon in July, with later reports claiming the reality star went after her with a machete, but Portwood is denying those claims, calling Glennon ‘insane.’
‘Like I literally opted out of drug court a long time ago to put myself in prison to help myself… why would I jeopardize… you haven’t heard s**t from me since then,’ she said.

The Season 10 finale of Teen Mom OG showed what happened just days before the incident that lead to Portwood’s arrest on July 5.
Portwood was arrested in Indianapolis after 6 AM on July 5, and according to dispatch audio, Glennon believed his child’s life was in danger.

TMZ obtained documents that revealed Glennon is seeking custody of their child, on the recommendation of the Department of Child Services.’
Glennon believed that Portwood is, ‘currently unable to provide a safe, stable, and secure environment for James on an ongoing basis due to her frequent refusal and/or failure to take medicines prescribed to treat her mental-health conditions, among other concerns.’
The documents also claimed that Portwood got in a heated argument with Glennon, and grabbed a machete and struck the door which Glennon was on the other side of.

While the machete didn’t strike Glennon, Portwood reportedly struck him with a shoe while he was holding their son.
After her arrest on three felony counts, including domestic battery and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, a judge granted Glennon a restraining order against Portwood, and she can’t go near him or their son until the case is resolved.
Portwood has another child, 11 year old Leah, with Gary Shirley, who both starred on the original season of Teen Mom in 2009.
