Christina Aguilera pairs a black satin dress with an olive overcoat as she leaves Jimmy Kimmel Live

She lit up the live-action Mulan premiere after recording a new version of her debut single Reflection.

Christina Aguilera opted for a more muted ensemble on Tuesday as she departed a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live in Hollywood.

The 39-year-old singer stepped out into the night while wearing a lustrous black dress. 

Christina put on a busty display in the low-cut silky dress, and she matched it  with a pair of knee-high black latex boots.

She stayed warm on the chilly evening and covered up in an oversize olive overcoat, which reached down to her knees and had to have the sleeves rolled up to expose her hands.

She wore her platinum blonde hair tied back in a high ponytail, with separate strands framing her impeccably made-up face.

Christina was making the rounds to help promote the new Disney live-action remake of it’s hit 1998 film Mulan.

This new version, which stars Chinese–American actress Liu Yifei, drops the original’s earworm songs, as well as the tiny comic dragon Mushu, originally voiced by Eddie Murphy.

The film helped launch Christina’s career, as she recorded a version of the film’s song Reflection, which was released as her debut single.

Filipina singer and actress Lea Salonga supplied Mulan’s singing voice and performed the song in the original movie, while Christina sang an end-credits version released as a single.

The song’s success and her command of her upper register won her a recording contract with RCA, and the song was later included on her debut eponymous album. 

Christina re-recorded Reflection for the Mulan remake, as well as a new song, Loyal Brave True.

During an interview for Forbes, the original songwriter Matthew Wilder explained that, though the new movie doesn’t have songs, Reflection is woven throughout its score.

‘I can tell you that there are there’s a new version of Reflection, and that song thematically plays a large part in the new movie throughout the score,’ he explained. ‘The film is not song-driven, but my music is present.’
