A driver has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after three people including a police officer were injured in a supermarket car park in Exeter.
The 30-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and assaulting a police officer after the incident in Pinhoe on Thursday.
Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Sainsbury’s in Hill Barton Road at around 5pm following reports a vehicle had collided with pedestrians in the car park.
A helicopter rushed to the scene along with paramedics.
A man and woman as well as a police officer were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries, the force said.

Police said in a statement: ‘Police were called to Sainsbury’s in Hill Barton Road, Pinhoe, Exeter, at around 5pm today following reports a vehicle had collided with pedestrians in the car park.
‘Officers, including the NPAS helicopter, attended the scene along with paramedics.
‘As a result of the incident, three people have suffered injuries; a male and a female and a police officer.
‘Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing at this time and they have been taken to hospital.
‘A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, dangerous driving and assaulting a police officer.
‘A cordon is in place at the scene and police enquiries are ongoing.’
