Kelly Ripa makes light of coronavirus outbreak, as films herself getting Botox’ in NYC

Kelly Ripa jokes about having ‘acute Botox deficiency’ in NYC… as she makes light of coronavirus outbreak

Amid fear over the spreading coronavirus outbreak, Kelly Ripa lightened the mood with her dermatologist on Thursday.

The Live with Kelly and Ryan host jokingly applauded her ‘brave’ doctor Robert Anolik for treating her ‘very serious medical problem’ in New York City.

‘Hi everyone, we’re going to talk about a serious medical problem,’ Ripa’s doctor quipped on the talk show host’s Instagram story. ‘It’s Botox deficiency, a lot of side effects, lines and wrinkles.

The humorous alum of All My Children added: ‘In this time, there has been a lot of worrying, you can see it written all over my face, but Dr. Anolik decided to be brave today and fix it.’

During her appointment to smooth the lines on her forehead, she poked fun at her doctor for being ‘afraid’ to touch her, as they acknowledged the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance.

‘Did I survive?’ she asked dramatically after her injections. ‘Is there any left for anyone else?’

Anolik seemed amused by her jokes, as he laughed and responded, ‘We used it all up, hopefully there won’t be a shortage.’

Once Ripa got home, still rocking a black tank and layered gold necklaces, she shared a ‘public service announcement’ to all her ‘girlfriends, whose kids just had their school cancelled.’

She called Obé Fitness videos ‘the answer to their prayers’ and encouraged them to try it, instead of working out around others.

‘As you can see, things are a little different here today, given the developing situation in New York with the coronavirus,” Ryan Seacrest said next to Ripa on Wednesday’s episode. ‘The decision was made to suspend audiences from our show.’

Ripa added: ‘While we don’t have our regular studio audience, except for some of our producers…that shouldn’t stop everyone from watching at home. Because, let’s face it: You can’t go anywhere else!’

The popular program is one of many of Walt Disney Television’s shows to stop having live studio, as networks take steep precautions to keep their talent, crews and the public safe.
