The Bachelor Peter Weber’s mom says she will ‘absolutely not’ apologize to Madison

Peter Weber’s mother is defiantly refusing to apologize after she shocked Bachelor producers with her attack on Madison Prewett on Tuesday’s After The Final Rose.

Barbara Weber openly disapproved of her son’s relationship with Madison since meeting her in Australia in scenes that aired on Monday’s episode.

And after revealing her sour feelings towards Madison hadn’t changed on Tuesday’s finale, Barbara says she will ‘absolutely not’ apologize to Peter’s now ex-girlfriend.

‘There’s nothing for me to apologize for,’ she told Life & Style. ‘Everyone thinks it’s just me … but it wasn’t just me. It’s the whole family.

‘It’s not that we did not like Madison. My answer to that is I don’t know Madison … I don’t know her well enough to form an opinion on such.’

Barbara openly pushed for Peter to choose Hannah Ann Sluss in the first part of the season 24 finale where his family met the two finalists separately.

The matriarch was extremely vocal about how Peter’s and Madison’s values didn’t align and called Hannah Ann an ‘angel on earth’.

Madison exited the show after the awkward meeting and Peter ended up proposing to Hannah Ann, only to break up with her a month later because of his unresolved feelings for Madison.

Making things all the more dramatic, Peter and Madison revealed their split on Thursday just two days after reuniting on the finale and telling the world that they were giving their relationship a shot.

‘Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,’ the star of season 24 of the ABC show said on the site. ‘Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us.’

The Virginia native, 29, added that the ‘love and respect’ he has for Prewett ‘will continue to endure.’

Earlier in the post, he opened up about his strong feelings for Prewett and her character – specifically, her ‘patience and unconditional love’

Weber, a pilot by trade, said: ‘You’re the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves whole heartedly. That love is something I feel so grateful to have felt and will take a piece of that with me always going forward.’

Prewett was equally warm in a post she shared to the site on Thursday evening, saying she ‘will always love and respect’ him.

The 23-year-old Alabama-born beauty said, ‘As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things.’

She said she believes their ‘paths were meant to cross and [they] are both better because they did.’

Prewett addressed Weber: ‘You are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan.’

Fans were in shock after a tense finale of The Bachelor on Tuesday night, as the show’s long-running host, Chris Harrison, admitted that the After The Final Rose production even took a toll on Weber.

The 48-year-old Bachelor patriarch told Us Weekly that the pilot was ‘visibly upset’ backstage after watching his mother verbally spar with Madison following an awkward confrontation from ex-fiancee Hannah Ann.

Peter announced to the world that he had broken up with Hannah Ann after a televised proposal and was interested in pursuing a new relationship with runner-up Madison, much to his mother’s dismay.

‘He was backstage standing next to Madison, visibly upset, venting to producers, just shaken,’ Harrison said. ‘His world got kind shaken on live TV. That’s something I don’t wish on anybody.

‘It was uncomfortable, and he was probably embarrassed – probably angry and rightfully so.’

During the second part of the finale, Barbara applauded when Hannah Ann confronted her son, and even asked her husband in Spanish to join in on slamming Madison.

When Harrison asked Barbara for her thoughts, the mother-of-two didn’t hold back.

‘Chris, he’s going to have to fail to succeed,’ she said. ‘All his friends, all his family, everyone that knows him knows that it’s not going to work.’

Barbara told Life & Style that Madison ‘never apologized’ to her and the family, nor to Hannah Ann.

‘She never ever mentioned how sorry she was to Hannah Ann for what had happened,’ she said. ‘You know, Hannah Ann was hurt, of course, but she never even apologized to her. So, [there are] two people that, I guess, unfortunately, need apologies.’

When Harrison was asked by PEOPLE about Barbara’s verbal attack on Madison, he said: ‘If you ask my honest to God opinion, I thought she was going to say, “Look, yes, I love Hannah Ann. I know I was hard on Madison and yeah, they have a lot of obstacles, but” — I was waiting for the “but” — “but that’s our son and we’re going to see how this goes.’

‘There was never a “but”. That car kept driving off the cliff. And I was really surprised and shocked and a little saddened by that,’ he continued.

‘I’m not saying Barb’s right or wrong, but the timing and the way it was put, maybe not the best. And you know, I don’t know if she regrets it. You’d have to talk to Barb.’
