The Bachelor’s Peter Weber and Madison Prewett have SPLIT two days following the show’s live finale

In yet another shocking twist, it’s over between The Bachelor’s Peter Weber and Madison Prewett.

The couple, who had a dramatic reunion on the live finale of the ABC series earlier this week (after Weber’s abrupt split from Hannah Ann Sluss) has broken up, both confirmed on Instagram Thursday.

‘Madi and I have mutually decided to not pursue our relationship any further,’ the star of season 24 of the ABC show said on the site. ‘Believe me this was not easy for either of us to be ok with, but after a lot of honest conversations, we have agreed that this is what makes most sense for the two of us.’

It’s over: The Bachelor’s Peter Weber, 29, and Madison Prewett, 23, have broken up, both confirmed on Instagram Thursday. The split comes after a dramatic finale on the ABC show Thursday after his mother criticized Prewett

The Virginia native, 29, added that the ‘love and respect’ he has for Prewett ‘will continue to endure.’

Earlier in the post, he opened up about his strong feelings for Prewett and her character – specifically, her ‘patience and unconditional love’

Weber, a pilot by trade, said: ‘You’re the epitome of a woman who carries herself with grace, stands by what she believes in, and loves whole heartedly. That love is something I feel so grateful to have felt and will take a piece of that with me always going forward.’

Prewett was equally warm in a post she shared to the site on Thursday evening, saying she ‘will always love and respect’ him.

The 23-year-old Alabama-born beauty said, ‘As Peter and I have decided to go our separate ways, I am confident that we will both move in the direction of our purpose and never forget that God has a plan in all things.’

She said she believes their ‘paths were meant to cross and [they] are both better because they did.’

Prewett addressed Weber: ‘You are an amazing guy and I’m thankful for you. I will always be your biggest fan.’

The announcement came just two days after fans were in shock after a tense finale of The Bachelor on Tuesday night, as the show’s long-running host, Chris Harrison, admitted that the After The Final Rose production even took a toll on Weber.

The 48-year-old Bachelor patriarch told Us Weekly that the pilot was ‘visibly upset’ backstage after watching his mother verbally spar with new girlfriend Prewett following an awkward confrontation from ex-fiancee Hannah Ann.

Peter announced to the world that he had broken up with Hannah Ann after a televised proposal and was interested in pursuing a new relationship with runner-up Madison, much to his mother’s dismay.

‘He was backstage standing next to Madison, visibly upset, venting to producers, just shaken,’ Harrison said. ‘His world got kind shaken on live TV. That’s something I don’t wish on anybody.

‘It was uncomfortable, and he was probably embarrassed – probably angry and rightfully so.’

During the second part of the finale, Barbara applauded when Hannah Ann confronted her son, and even asked her husband in Spanish to join in on slamming Madison.

‘In life – and I am a parent – you only want what’s best for your kids. But there’s a time when you can be right and be wrong. And was she right? Maybe,’ Harrison said. ‘But did she need to make that statement at that time? Was the timing there in the way she expressed herself, could it have been a little better, a little different?

‘Do you ever need to say to your kid, “I told you so?” I just thought, in that moment, maybe it could’ve been a little better timing.’

Harrison attempted to quell the tense situation with Peter and his mother, but to no avail.

‘I tried to fix it. I was trying to, like, extend an olive branch and I was hopefully trying to leave on a good note and just couldn’t get there. There was animosity built up,’ Harrison said.

He added: ‘People have to understand, when I left Australia, I thought we had this amazing show that would’ve been half of tonight. In that moment, I really think he was all in, but he just couldn’t get Madison out of his head.’
