Presley Gerber steps out in LA after slamming critics of his ‘misunderstood’ face tattoo

Presley Gerber accused of comparing his face tattoo to being transgender… after slamming critics of his ‘misunderstood’ ink on his cheek

He’s battled against critics after a new tattoo appeared on his face just weeks ago.

And Presley Gerber appeared to be in good spirits as he stepped out in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.

The 20-year-old model enjoyed a night out at the trendy restaurant Craig’s after taking to Instagram to defend his decision for the permanent artwork plastered across his cheek.

However, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber has come under fire from several people who accuse him of comparing his tattoo backlash to being transgender.

Gerber defended the prominent ink Wednesday in a message posted to his Instagram Stories.

‘Most and a lot of people can get a face lifts, change genders, lip injections, etc and it’s offensive to say anything in today’s day in age but I get a little face tattoo and now people to love hate me.. Hmmmm? [sic]’ he wrote.

The bizarre statement seemed to compare the negative reactions he got to the tattoo to the discrimination that transgender people receive.

It also appeared to conflate gender reconfirmation surgery with purely cosmetic procedures including ‘face lifts’ and ‘lip injections.’

Presley was fashion forward in a Chrome Hearts zip-down sweatshirt paired with a white T-shirt for his night out.

He stayed with his monochrome theme wearing black skinny jeans and a pair of white Nike kicks.

Peeks of his chocolate brown hair peered out from underneath a black hat, and his new ‘misunderstood’ tattoo took center stage on his face.

While leaving the hotspot, Presley admitted that he hoped to inspire people with his new ink.

‘There’s so much hate in this world … people need to wake up a little bit,’ he said. ‘It’s a literal meaning. I think people need to just wake up a little bit … do their thing.’

Recently, Presley’s antics have caused concern among his parents, supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber.

Last month, an insider told Us Weekly: ‘Presley is obviously going through a super rebellious phase right now’

‘He is trying to get out of the shadow of his family and find his own way and create his own identity. He also likes the attention he’s been getting, even if negative, from his tattoo and recent posts.’
