Rod Stewart put nothing to to chance as he stepped out with wife Penny Lancaster as precautionary measure continue to be made regarding the spread of coronavirus strain COVID-19.

The veteran rocker, 75, wore protective gloves while out for breakfast with the model in exclusive Los Angeles suburb Bel Air on Sunday. 

Rod, who owns a home in the city, showed off his white cotton gloves as he walked hand in hand with Penny during their latest public appearance.

On Friday the L.A. County Public Health Department officials confirmed eight new cases of the coronavirus, bringing the total to 40. 

But the singer looked relaxed as he ventured out despite increasing concern about the virus as it spreads across the globe.  

On another warm day in Los Angeles, lifelong Celtic fan Rod opted for a white hooded top emblazoned with the Scottish football club’s name as the couple rounded off their day with a spot of shopping.

Green and white hooped socks continued the tribute to Rod’s boyhood club, while ripped jeans and green Puma trainers rounded things off. 

Joining her husband, Penny, 49, looked equally relaxed in cropped leggings and a T-shirt that appeared to honour late rapper The Notorious B.I.G. 

The model, who did not wear gloves during her appearance with Rod, added to her look with a black leather jacket and running shoes.

As of Sunday, there are now nearly 3,300 cases and 60 Coronavirus deaths in the United States alone. 

There are currently more than 1,372 confirmed cases in Rod and Penny’s native UK and 35 people have died, with more infections are expected to be declared throughout the week.
