Kyle and Jackie O broadcast from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic

Kyle and Jackie O bunker down: Radio hosts are broadcasting from home amid the COVID-19 pandemic as they self-isolate after making contact with Richard Wilkins’ son Christian

Sydney breakfast radio hosts Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson are in self-isolation as coronavirus panic grips the Australian media industry.

The KIIS FM presenters are broadcasting from home as of Tuesday, with only a few essential staff members working at the studio in North Ryde.

Newsreader Brooklyn Ross and a handful of producers remain in the office, but Kyle and Jackie are being kept away as a precaution.

The hosts came into contact with Dancing with the Stars contestant Christian Wilkins during an in-studio appearance on Tuesday, March 10.

Christian and his dance partner, Lily McManus, are being tested for COVID-19 after his father, Weekend Today host Richard Wilkins, tested positive on Sunday night.

Richard – who said on Monday he hadn’t yet displayed symptoms – may have contracted the deadly virus from singer Rita Wilson.

He had briefly met Rita backstage at her Sydney Opera House concert on March 7.

Rita and her husband, actor Tom Hanks, revealed on March 12 they had both tested positive for coronavirus.

It is unclear if Kyle, 48, and Jackie, 45, are being tested for coronavirus in addition to self-isolating at home.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted The Kyle and Jackie O Show for comment.

Other radio shows are being broadcast from the presenters’ homes this week, including Nova FM’s Fitzy & Wippa and the Hit Network’s Hughesy & Ed.

Nova is taking the precaution because Richard Wilkins had appeared on Fitzy & Wippa as a guest on Thursday, three days before his coronavirus diagnosis.

The Hit Network’s decision was based on the fact Ed Kavalee had shared a dressing room with Christian Wilkins on Dancing with the Stars over the weekend.

There were 268 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia as of Monday night.
