‘I’m pregnant!’ MKR star Ash Pollard makes her radio co-host SNIFF her pregnancy test before announcing she’s expecting her first child with boyfriend Pete Ferne

My Kitchen Rules star Ash Pollard announced on Tuesday that she’s expecting her first child with boyfriend Pete Ferne.

The 34-year-old shared the happy news live on her Hit101.3 radio show.

Before revealing she’s pregnant, Ash made her radio co-host Gawndy sniff her pregnancy test.

Ash gave Gawndy a pair of hospital-grade gloves, a blindfold and a box, thinking he was taking part in a mystery box challenge.

Inside the box was Ash’s pregnancy test, which he smelt while trying to workout what the item was.

‘It smells like nothing, I can’t smell anything on that,’ Gawndy said, guessing it was a pregnancy test.

‘I’m pregnant!’ Ash screamed.

‘What, are you serious?! Congratulations… That explains all the moods,’ Gawndy said, clearly shocked.

Ash said she’s due in September and is in her second trimester.

She said that the baby was a ‘surprise.’

The former TV star joked that her father said the baby was a ‘bast**d child’ as they’re having it out of wedlock.

The blonde said she fell pregnant after a wedding in December.

She also shared to Instagram a picture of herself with builder boyfriend Pete at the wedding, saying it was from the ‘day of conception.’

The curly-haired star also shared an ultrasound snap, saying the baby is ‘baking away nicely.’

‘Mother sick as a dog but getting on with it, father putting up with mood swings well,’ Ash captioned her post.

She said she has yet to shop for a pram or cot, but is excited to welcome her first child.

‘We are over the moon and taking it all in our stride,’ Ash wrote online.

Ash has been dating boyfriend Pete Ferne, 35, since 2017.

Last month, she revealed on her radio show that she has polycystic ovary syndrome and was told it could made it difficult to start a family.

She teared up when she admitted that she felt forced to choose between her career and having a baby.

‘All I want to do is keep going leaps and bounds in my career but now I’m like, what do I do? Do I think about my career or do I think about having a kid?’ she said at the time.

WHAT IS POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition that affects how a woman’s ovaries work which can lead to fertility issues.

The three main features of PCOS are:

Irregular periods – which means the ovaries don’t regularly release eggs (ovulation). This can affect a woman’s ability to get pregnant.

Excess androgen – high levels of ‘male hormones’ in the body, which may cause physical signs such as excess facial or body hair.

Polycystic ovaries – the ovaries become enlarged and contain many fluid-filled sacs (follicles) which surround the eggs and can stop thme from being released (it’s important to note that, despite the name, if you have PCOS you don’t actually have cysts).
