Chris Hemsworth heads to an isolated beach near his Byron Bay home to fly a kite


Coronavirus panic is spreading around Australia as the number of confirmed cases soars past 400.

But Chris Hemsworth looked like he didn’t have a care in world on Monday as he took his three children to the beach in Byron Bay.

The Thor: Ragnarok star, 36, found an isolated spot and flew a colourful kite while his kids watched on in amazement.

Chris and his wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, share three children: daughter India Rose, seven, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, both five.  

Despite news of the deadly COVID-19 causing panic across Australia, Chris appeared to be keeping level-headed.

Just one day earlier, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison had encouraged ‘social distancing’ across the nation amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The kite soared high into the air, as he held onto the orange handle to avoid it flying away from the group.

The Men In Black: International star also spent time doting over his children, picking them up for hugs and watching them play on the soft sand.

The A-list couple moved back to Australia in 2014 to enjoy a quieter and more relaxed lifestyle Down Under.

In January, Chris revealed he would be taking a break from the spotlight for ‘six to eight months’ to stay at home with his family. 

Chris often frequents local beaches in the area with his children to teach them how to surf, while Elsa has been seen taking their daughter horse riding along the sand.

In January, after six years of living in the quiet Byron Bay community, Elsa told Vogue Australia that she felt ‘privileged’ to enjoy such a beautiful life. 

Chris and Elsa moved into their $20million ‘mega mansion’ in Byron Bay just before Christmas last year.

The couple spent two years renovating the property, which they had previously bought for $7million back in 2014.

Globally there have been more than 181,000 cases of coronavirus, with the death toll already surpassing 7,000.

In Australia, the first reported case of COVID-19 occurred in January.

As of Tuesday afternoon, there were more than 400 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country, including five deaths.

Locally for Chris, Byron Bay Bluesfest organisers announced on Monday that the five-day camping festival would not proceed next month as scheduled.
