Coronavirus: Bachelor star Tara Pavlovic CANCELS her wedding due to pandemic

Tearful Bachelor star Tara Pavlovic CANCELS her wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic and says she won’t ‘take the selfish road’ by putting guests at risk

Former Bachelor in Paradise star Tara Pavlovic has been forced to cancel her wedding to Nick Shepherdson due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 28-year-old nanny was scheduled to marry her fiancé in two weeks’ time but they couple have postponed the ceremony indefinitely.

‘We decided today we had to postpone it just because of the coronavirus,’ she said in a tearful video shared to Instagram on Tuesday.

She added:  I could not forgive myself if someone came to my wedding and got sick. It’s just not worth it, which is really, really sad.

‘When you plan a wedding and put in that much effort and time and heart and soul and it just gets cancelled for some crazy reason, how do you even plan for this?

‘You cant go “I hope coronavirus doesn’t hit” because who the f**k knows what coronavirus is?’

Tara said it was important to put the health of the community first, especially older and more vulnerable people.

‘It’s important to stay away from people now. My dad is old and my grandmother couldn’t come because of it. We have friends and family overseas who can’t come, our favourite people wouldn’t be there anyway,’ she said.

‘I’m just trying to do the right thing by everyone and not take the selfish road. I think that’s what everyone needs to be doing.’

Tara apologised for being a ‘whinger’ and insisted that she wasn’t trying to make the global health crisis as ‘all about me’.

She added: ‘A wedding can wait and I’m sure it will… be a perfect day, because everything happens for a reason.’

Tara and Nick announced their engagement in September last year.

She had been a finalist on Matty Johnson’s season of The Bachelor in 2017, before briefly getting engaged to Sam Cochrane on Bachelor in Paradise the following year.

There are 456 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia as of Wednesday morning, with five people already dead.

As shelves continue to be stripped bare by panic buyers, fights and unruly behaviour in supermarkets have become commonplace across the country.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced on Wednesday a ban on gatherings of more than 100 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He also advised against all overseas travel – marking the first time in Australia’s history that the government has told citizens not to go to any country.
