Police hunt killer as woman in her 20s is stabbed to death in east London

A woman in her 20s has been stabbed to death in East Ham.

Police and emergency services responded to a call between Altmore Avenue and Barking Road at around 12.45am this morning.

The victim, aged in her twenties, was found with serious injuries and she was rushed to hospital where she later died.

Officers are working to establish her identity and inform her next of kin.

Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

A crime scene is currently in place.

Barking Road has been shut in both directions between Denmark Arms and East Ham library throughout the early hours of the morning.
