Elle said during the final episode:  ‘Winning My Kitchen Rules, getting that title is everything. It’s what we want so badly.

‘The $100,000 prize money is a bonus. It’s the title. It’s about proving and backing each other that we can do this.’

‘I love that [Jake] has the courage to be who he wants to be and I wouldn’t do this with anyone else,’ she added.

The finale comes after My Kitchen Rules was plagued with poor ratings all season.

MKR’s Sunday episodes struggled to compete with the likes of Married At First Sight, Dancing with the Stars and now-finished I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

On Sunday, February 9, MKR plummeted to 476,000 viewers (five city metro), while MAFS stole the top spot with a whopping 1,091,000.
