The Walking Dead has become the latest TV series to become impacted by the spread of the coronavirus, with the upcoming Season 10 finale being delayed.

AMC announced Tuesday (via The Walking Dead Twitter) that the season finale, originally scheduled to air on Sunday, April 12, has been delayed indefinitely.

While no replacement air date was given, it was revealed that the episode will air sometime later in the year as a ‘special episode.’

AMC had previously pushed the premiere of its new Walking Dead series entitled The Walking Dead: World Beyond, which was also slated to premiere on April 12.

That premiere will also happen later this year, but the network hasn’t offered a specific date when it will air now.

The news comes just days after the 13th episode of Season 10, What We Become, the final episode for Danai Gurira’s Michonne, which brought back some familiar faces in surprise cameo performances.

The episode followed Michonne being imprisoned and drugged on a remote island by a stranger named Virgil (Kevin Carroll), which lead to hallucinations where she saw her former lover Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln).

She also saw some of her long-gone friends like Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun), Abraham Ford (Michael Cudlitz) and Heath (Corey Hawkins).

Gurira’s Michonne had been a fixture of the hit zombie series since Season 3, though the door remains open for her to possibly return in the future.
