Alicia Keys reveals she considered terminating her second pregnancy in new tell-all memoir

 Alicia Keys has revealed she considered having an abortion in 2014, according to the singer’s new memoir More Myself.

The 39-year-old songstress said when she found out she was pregnant with her second child to husband Swizz Beatz, she told her doctor she ‘wasn’t ready for this’.

‘This is the worst time ever,’ she recalled telling the health care professional. 

The If I Ain’t Got You hitmaker was working on her sixth studio album, titled Here, at the time. 

Alicia recalled telling her doctor, ‘”I’m working on my next album. My husband just got into Harvard Business School. And I’ve been drinking. A lot.”‘ 

‘I left her office feeling so torn.’ 

Alicia admitted she weighed her career against the implications of another child, after she and Swizz -real name Kasseem Dean- welcomed son Egypt Daoud in 2010.

‘The music I was creating felt more important and urgent than just about everything,’ she recalled thinking. 

‘I’d have to put off its release for at least a year if I chose to have the baby.’
