MAFS: Connie Crayden admits she wasn’t ‘forced’ to stay with Jonethen Musulin

MAFS star Connie Crayden’s humiliating backtrack as she admits producers DIDN’T force her to stay with Jonethen Musulin… after she insisted she wanted to leave as well

Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden has backpedalled on claims she was forced to write stay at the final commitment ceremony.

The marine biology student, 27, said last week that she’d wanted to leave ‘husband’ Jonethen Musulin but producers told her she wasn’t allowed to.

But it turns out this wasn’t actually the case.

On Wednesday, Connie told Hit Mid North Coast’s Krysti & Bodge she was the one who had chosen to stay with Jonethen.

‘I wasn’t forced to write stay. I am the one who put the pen to that paper. At the end of the day, the ball was in my court,’ she said.

‘No one held a gun to my head. No one blackmailed me or bribed me or anything like that.’

Oh no! 'I wasn't forced to write 'stay' I am the one who put the pen to that paper. At the end of the day the ball was in my court,' she said. Pictured: 'husband' Jonethen (R)

Despite acknowledging it was her decision to stay, Connie implied there had been an element of coercion.

‘At the end of the day, it is a TV show. Producers will do and say anything they can to execute the storyline they want,’ she said.

Connie told NW magazine earlier this month she had been ‘forced’ to write stay even though it was clear she and Jonethen were ‘nothing more than friends’.

‘They tried to convince me for 12 hours to write stay again. Finally they convinced me to write stay [and] I felt awful holding him against his will,’ she claimed.

In yet another humiliating blow, Connie said it was a rumour leaked by a producer when she made the claims to NW magazine this month. Here: "husband" Jonethen

Connie apparently ‘begged producers’ to let Jonethen go home, but was told they had to stay another week as she’d voted to stay.

At the final commitment ceremony of the season, Connie was left distraught when her on-screen husband said he wanted to go home.

It was the third week in a row he’d voted to leave the experiment.

The university student said she understood Jonethen didn’t want to be with her, but wanted to stay regardless for her own personal growth.

Married At First Sight continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on Channel Nine
