Married At First Sight: Connie Crayden accused of FAKING final vow speech

Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden is accused of FAKING her final vows speech – as very similar self-love affirmations emerge on Pinterest

Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden has been accused of plagiarising her speech about self-love during her final vows on Sunday’s episode.

The 27-year-old marine biology student ended things with Jonethen Musulin with an empowering monologue about ‘finding herself’ – but fans are convinced producers orchestrated her sudden character development.

Interestingly, popular self-love affirmations on blogging websites such as Pinterest and Tumblr match Connie’s speech almost word for word.

Did she write it herself? Married At First Sight’s Connie Crayden (pictured) has been accused of plagiarising her speech about self-love at her finals vows on Sunday night

During their final vows, Connie told Jonethen she had kept him in the experiment for so long because she was on a journey of self-discovery.

She proudly declared: ‘Although I didn’t find love with you, I found something so much more important. Something so valuable. I found that I am brave, I am strong, I am confident, and I am worthy. Ultimately, I’ve found myself.

‘Standing in front of you is a confident and proud woman who now understands her worth in this world. The only love and approval I need is from myself. I became the love I was searching for – but I could never have done any of this without you.’

While Connie is believed to have compiled the speech herself, it is likely she was heavily inspired by self-love blogs and social media quotes.

A familiar post on Pinterest includes the words ‘I am…’ surrounded by many of the empowering adjectives Connie chose to describe herself[.

Another post states, ‘I love, accept and approve of myself’, which is remarkbly similar to Connie’s quote: ‘The only love and approval I need is from myself.’

‘Nice work with Connie’s vows, producer,’ mused one viewer.

‘Hmmm wondering if the producers made Connie stay every week just so she could give that speech at the end,’ pondered another.

Another fan questioned if this storyline had been planned all along, writing: ‘It occurred to me Connie agreed the narrative with the producers at the outset.’

A fourth unimpressed fan of the show posted: ‘The producers are reaaallly trying to sell us this Connie empowerment narrative, huh?’
