Travelex owner Finablr dumped by auditor after troubled finance company rocked by scandal

Travelex owner Finablr has been dumped by its auditor after the troubled finance company was rocked by scandal.

Ernst & Young (EY) said it resigned over concerns about ‘recent events at the company’, which include the bombshell discovery of £81m worth of secret cheques.

It also raised concerns about corporate governance at Finablr and the firm’s links to hospitals provider NMC Health, which it shares board members with.

NMC was founded by BR Shetty, the Indian billionaire who is also founder and co-chairman of Finablr.

Both London-listed companies have had their shares suspended recently while they investigate accounting scandals.
