People make memes to show how they look and feel before and during quarantine

People are sharing hilarious memes comparing pop culture images to show how they looked and felt at the start of March compared to the end.

The comical posts are bringing much-needed humor to social media amid the coronavirus pandemic as people recall how they went from being relatively carefree on March 1 to completely haggard by March 31.

Most would agree that the past four weeks have felt like years as the virus rapidly spread around the world and social distancing became the new normal.

Before and after: Twitter users have been posting hilarious memes show how they looked at the start of March compared to the end, including this one featuring Forest Whitaker

As of Wednesday, there have been over 190,000 confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. and more than 4,000 deaths — and this is just the beginning.

The White House has predicted that the virus will kill 100,000 to 240,000 Americans, meaning the worst has yet to come.

Fears surrounding the novel virus have only been exacerbated by financial uncertainty. Economic shutdowns to fight the coronavirus will likely put the country in a deep recession as millions of workers have already been laid off.

Director and writer Matthew A. Cherry kicked off his thread of ‘March 1st vs. March 31st’ memes on Tuesday by sharing side-by-side images of a young Forest Whitaker in the 1982 comedy Fast Times at Ridgemont High and him 34 years later in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
