MAFS’ Michael Goonan reveals REAL reason you don’t see half of the show’s most scandalous moments

Married At First Sight star Michael Goonan has revealed why fans don’t see half of the show’s most scandalous moments on camera.

Speaking on Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam and Browny earlier this week, the 28-year-old company director said that most of the interesting stuff happens behind the scenes.

He also took a swipe at his co-stars and said that they’re all the ‘most damaged people in society’ going onto a TV show.

Speaking out: Married At First Sight’s Michael Goonan (pictured) revealed this week the REAL reason you don’t see half of the show’s most scandalous moments on camera

‘Have you noticed this season that the cameramen haven’t got any of the juicy stuff, how can that be?’ host Chrissie Swan asked Michael.

Michael said that a lot of the drama happens off camera, saying: ‘I know, I think a lot of it happened behind the scenes.’

He then bizarrely compared it to the coronavirus pandemic and the actions of Australians, saying: ‘Picture coronavirus, you’ve got Scott Morrison telling you to stay at home and you’ve got everyone running around.’

He added: ‘People don’t like to do what they’re told sometimes, sometimes you sneak out, you know what I mean?!’

Seemingly referring to producers, he said: ‘You picked 20 of the most damaged people in society and threw them into the experiment and [said] “there’s the rule books guys, you failed at Tinder but succeed at this,” come on!’

During Tuesday’s explosive reunion episode of MAFS, the cheating scandal between Mikey Pembroke and Michael’s ‘wife’ Stacey Hampton played out.

Stacey’s one-night stand with Mikey was exposed at the dinner party.

The aspiring lawyer repeatedly denied the allegations, even after Mikey produced corroborative text messages that proved they’d spent the night together.

During the episode, Michael appeared surprisingly calm despite the scandal.

But it appears the businessman’s blow-up with the legal graduate, 26, came later, when the cameras weren’t rolling.

An inside source claimed to WHO Magazine that producers were forced to intervene when the couple got heated discussing the ‘affair’ ahead of the reunion.

The source alleged Michael, 29, angrily told Stacey to ‘go f**k Mikey again’, after being convinced the cheating scandal occurred thanks to Mikey’s admission and his text message exchanges.

Michael also allegedly called Stacey ‘scum’, but it was another cutting comment that set the blonde off.

It is believed producers were forced to separate the pair when Michael told the mother-of-two that she was ‘an embarrassment to her children’.

Stacey told Daily Mail Australia on Thursday that other harsh words were delivered by Michael on a cab ride to the venue: ‘He also said he would bury me.’

Meanwhile, when Daily Mail Australia contacted Michael for further comment, he supplied a photoshopped photo of Stacey, and said: ‘Look, Stacey is upset and in damage control trying to justify her self by talking negatively about me.

‘I think we all know Stacey would give J.K Rowling a run for her money with the amount of fiction she talks.’
