Victoria Justice to host Kids’ Choice Awards from home as event will broadcast remotely for first time ever amid coronavirus pandemic

With the growing coronavirus pandemic, many of Hollywood’s big events have been cancelled or postponed.

But Nickelodeon is soldiering on with this year’s Kids’ Choice Awards, as its nominees quarantine at home.

Victoria Justice has been announced to host the awards show from home, as it will broadcast remotely for the first time in its 32-year history on Saturday, May 2 at 8pm ET/PT on Nickelodeon.

During the awards show, Nickelodeon will present a $1million donation to No Kid Hungry to support those affected by COVID-19.

The show was originally scheduled for March 22, but it was cancelled due to the global health crisis.

It joined the likes of SXSW, Coachella, San Diego Comic-Con, New York City Pride and many others in taking the necessary precaution.

The newly scheduled remote version will be the first awards show to take place during the pandemic.

It follows the lead of recent remote broadcasted events like the iHeart Living Room Concert for America and Global Citizen’s One World: Together At Home.
