Rachel Riley cradles daughter Maven, five months, as she steps out in London with husband Pasha Kovalev and mother-in-law Galina

Rachel Riley made the most of England’s relaxed lockdown laws on Wednesday as she ventured out with her loved ones in central London.

The Countdown star was joined by husband Pasha Kovalev, their infant daughter Maven and mother-in-law Galina while running errands in the English capital.

Sporting a pair of seasonal yellow shorts, Rachel, 34, caught the eye while cradling five-month old Maven, her only child with Pasha, in a papoose.

Stepping out: Rachel Riley made the most of England’s relaxed lockdown laws on Wednesday as she ventured out with her loved ones in central London

The Oxford educated maths whizz added to her casual look with a loose fitting short-sleeved shirt, while strappy flat sandals rounded things off.

On another warm day she kept her eyes shielded behind a pair of heavily tinted sunglasses while strolling alongside her loved ones.

With Maven safely harnessed across her chest, Rachel made sure her daughter stayed cool by covering her head with a white patterned sun hat.

Speaking on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Lucy Horobin in May, Rachel admitted the countrywide lockdown has been something of a blessing for the family as they have been given ‘enforced maternity and paternity leave’.

Calling in from home, she said: ‘We’re quite fortunate in a way, I was supposed to be back at work, Pasha was supposed to be on tour, and it’s kind of enforced maternity and paternity leave we didn’t have before so we’re loving it…

‘She’s just over five months, I’ve left her in bed in kind of the same sleeping position as Pash, if you hear crying it could be either one of them I have no idea.’

She added:  ‘I mean we’re just in the new baby glow… thankfully the weather has been lovely and every day I wear my sling which is guaranteed some sleep and I just got to the park and the sun is shining , and all the ducklings are coming out so it’s quite lovely.’

Speaking to MailOnline about going into lockdown so soon after giving birth, she said: ‘I’ve developed bad habits because there’s now this enforced maternity leave that Pasha and I wouldn’t have had otherwise.

‘So we are home with Maven all the time. That means we’ve got a very happy baby!’
