Some 400 small firms seek High Court fight with Hiscox after being denied business interruption claims

The Hiscox Action Group is demanding to join the action being taken against the insurance giant by the Financial Conduct Authority

Nearly 400 firms outraged when insurance giant Hiscox denied business interruption claims hope to fight a court case.

The Hiscox Action Group, represented by the law firm Mishcon de Reya, is demanding to join the legal action being taken in a case next month which is being brought by the City watchdog.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) is hauling Hiscox and seven other insurers before a High Court judge.

Mark Killick, of the action group, said: ‘It is our members that are going out of business and they are entitled to be heard.’
