Adele’s anticipated fourth album will NOT be released in September as had been planned

Adele’s first album since 2015 will not be released September as anticipated, her manager has confirmed in a new interview.

Months after speculation among fans that the global lockdown had pushed the album’s release date back to 2021, Jonathan Dickins has now admitted that there is currently no date for when the project will hit shelves.

Revealing that the COVID-19 pandemic was to blame, he told Newsweek: ‘It isn’t coming in September, it’ll be ready when it’s ready.

‘We’re all in the same boat, you’re doing stuff and then all of a sudden, the world stops. It’ll come when it’s ready. I can’t put a date on that yet. We have music, but we’re still working.’ 

Back in April, fans had expressed fears that the mother-of-one wouldn’t be releasing her latest project this year, after she made a comment on Instagram. 

The star, whose last album, 25, sold 22 million copies worldwide and earned two Grammy Awards, was tuned into an Instagram Live between producers Babyface and Teddy Riley at the time.

The chat was continually interrupted by glitches, leading Adele to comment:  ‘Come on, it’s 2020 – we ain’t meant to get what we want!’

This has now sent her fans into a tailspin, believing it’s confirmation that the album will be postponed til next year.

The likes of Lady Gaga, Sam Smith and Alanis Morissette have all put their forthcoming album releases on hold thanks to the global health crisis.

But OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder, who is collaborating with Adele on the new album, did give fans some good news last month when he said she ‘sounds better than ever’.

Ryan, who has previously helped the singer write classic hits such as Rumour Has It and Turning Tables, broke his promise to ‘stay completely mum’ over the singer’s new music. 

Speaking to The Sun, Ryan teased: ‘I’ll just say that she sounds better than ever.’

Adding that he was going to hold his tongue and ‘stay completely mum’ on his time in the studio for the songstress’ fourth album. 

Adele, who filed for divorce from her husband in September, is expected to drop a new track on being ‘optimistic’ about moving on from her failed marriage with Simon Konecki. 

Ryan released his fifth album, Human, with his band OneRepublic on Saturday after taking a four year break from touring and making music to spend time with his wife Genevieve and two sons Copeland, nine, and Miles, five.

The songwriter is also responsible for writing a number of hits performed by other artists such as Leona Lewis’ Bleeding Love and Battlefield by Jordan Sparks. 

Last month Adele accidentally let slip that her new album would be released in September when she attended her pal Laura Dockrill’s wedding reception.

In an exclusive video clip obtained by MailOnline, Adele can be heard telling the crowd ‘expect my album in September’ before she belts out her hit Rolling In The Deep.  

Adele released her debut album 19 in 2008, followed by 21 in 2011 and 25 in 2015, which each spawned massive tours.

It comes after a source told People that the artist is ‘definitely getting ready both mentally and physically to promote new music.’

The Tottenham native was reportedly ‘feeling free’ after filing for divorce from her husband Simon Konecki, after announcing their separation in April 2019.

Since then the star has stunned fans with her incredible transformation after losing seven stone.

It is believed the hitmaker transformed her physique after a dietary overhaul but was inspired to do so for her son, Angelo, seven.

In January, Adele’s former personal trainer shed light on the superstar’s seven stone weight loss, revealing she achieved her slimmed-down physique by sticking to a strict diet of ‘green juice and 1,000 calories a day’.

Adele and charity CEO Simon started dating in the summer of 2011, but the couple kept their relationship out of the limelight for the most part.

They announced in June 2012 that they were expecting their first child, with their son Angelo born in October 2012.

While they never formally announced their marriage, speculation surfaced that they had been secretly married in 2016, when they were spotted wearing matching rings.

The blonde beauty confirmed they had tied the knot the 59th Grammy Awards in February 2017, when she called her long-term partner her husband in her acceptance speech.

After she collected the Album of the Year gong, she said at the time: ‘Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you. My manager, my husband and my son you’re the only reason I do it.’

But in April 2019, the singer’s reps released a statement to the Associated Press, where they announced their separation after seven years together.

‘Adele and her partner have separated. They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.’
