Homeowners have shared how they organise their fridges at home, and the tips they swear by for a streamlined week.

Posting on Facebook, men and women shared photos of their organised kitchens – and revealed why they organise their fridges as they do.

‘Can I see how everyone organises their fridges?’ one woman posted online.

It wasn’t long before dozens of others got involved, with one woman saying she places all of her food on top of tea towels – so that when she needs to clean the shelves, she simply has to remove the tea towels without having to wash the shelves as often.

‘I’m a Tupperware lady so hence why my fridge is like this,’ one woman wrote, alongside a snap of her fridge with everything in neatly-organised containers.

Others shared photos of their fridges where every bit of food has been divided into a specific day, and then put in a brown paper bag so that when it comes to dinner-time, all they need to do is pull out the relative bag.

‘These Kmart containers are amazing and my fruit and veg stays fresher for longer in them,’ one woman wrote – posting a photo of her fridge with countless Kmart containers inside it.

‘I highly recommend Sistema Fresh works containers for keeping produce fresh,’ another added.

‘My fridge definitely isn’t perfect but I find that if I keep things in tubs the fridge needs a lot less cleaning! I just need labels now. All tubs and lazy Susan from Kmart,’ one woman wrote.

Others also said they love to keep their sauces and mustard on lazy Susans, as this means they don’t have to hunt for items towards the back.

Speaking previously to FEMAIL, mother Belle Saf, 37, from Melbourne, said she spent two years researching her fridge makeover and deciding on the exact containers she wanted, before she started to put together her dream look.

The mum-of-two said she started work on her fridge around two years ago, when she and her family moved into their home after a long seven months in a tiny rental.

What are the top fridge storage tricks homeowners swear by?

* Separate food out into different bags or containers for different days of the week.

* Pre-chop fruit and vegetables and keep them in Sistema containers or boxes from Kmart to keep them fresher for longer.

* Use lazy Susans for sauces and mustard so you don’t have to reach towards the back of the fridge.

* Store your food on the fridge in tea towels so you don’t have to wash the shelves too much, but just remove the tea towels.

* Label everything with what it is plus the dates so you know what it is and when to eat it.

* Place two chopsticks on top of a bowl to put another one on top and create more space in your fridge.

‘I started collecting my glass Decor containers from Big W,’ she said.

‘I waited until they were half price before I bought them, and then I purchased a large selection that filled the fridge.’

Belle said she now swears by the containers for prolonging the life of many fruits and vegetables.

Much of her food, she said, lasts for as long as three weeks.
