A teenage boy has died after he fell into a river in a country park in Glasgow.

The body of the 16-year-old was recovered from the water in Pollok Country Park, Glasgow.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to the park around 5.10pm on Tuesday evening.

Police Scotland confirmed that they had recovered a body from White Cart Water.

A police spokesperson said: ‘Around 5.10pm on Tuesday police responded to a report of a concern for a person in the water at Pollok Country Park, Glasgow.

‘Emergency services attended and the body of a 16-year-old boy was recovered.

‘There are no apparent suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.’
