This is the moment cruel thieves allegedly stole a family’s puppy after it escaped from their home.

Footage from a nearby CCTV camera shows four-month-old English blue staffy ‘Paua’ escape out a side gate of the family’s Huntingdale home, south-east of Perth, at around 11am.

After Paua wandered across the road a black Holden Commodore came to a sudden stop and two men stepped out of the car.

A family’s puppy named Pupa was allegedly stolen from their Perth home on Tuesday morning by two men

The scared puppy was seen running away from the first man before the driver scooped him up, put him in the car and drove away.

The dog’s owner and mother-of-four Juanita Houpapa told Perth Now a neighbour saw the alleged theft unfold when they were driving behind the car.

Ms Houpapa said the neighbours followed the black Commodore for about 100 metres but the alleged thieves quickly sped away.

She said there were signs of strange behaviour before the theft.

‘We do know that the car had been circling,’ she said.

Her 15-year-old son came home to find the the side gate unlocked and his puppy missing only minutes later.

It is unclear what prompted the thieves to steal the family’s dog but English blue staffy pups can fetch thousands of dollars.

Ms Houpapa said the family have struggled to sleep since the theft and pleaded for those online to help her find Paua.

‘Our beloved puppy has gone missing from the Huntingdale area, he goes by the name of Paua & we would really like him back,’ she said.

Ms Houpapa vowed to not stop looking for Paua and asked anyone with information to contact her.
