MasterChef fans beg Channel 10 for a seniors version of hit show where contestants share family recipes ‘handed down over the years’

Junior MasterChef Australia was a rating smash when it premiered in 2010.

And now, MasterChef fans are begging Channel 10 for a seniors version of the hit cooking show.

Posting in a popular MasterChef Facebook group, one viewer came up with the brilliant idea which had others overwhelmingly rushing to agree with him.

What a brilliant idea! MasterChef fans took to Facebook to beg Channel 10 for a seniors version of hit show, where contestants share family recipes 'handed down over the years' (Pictured left to right are MasterChef judges Andy Allen, Melissa Leong and Jock Zonfrillo)

‘So, I’ve been thinking, we have MC Aus and Junior MC Aus. How about introducing a new, awesome MC SENIORS Aus?’ he said.

‘Something like a slower but more classic recipes version? No ridiculous running etc. and pressure test but just showcasing amazing, tried, trusted and true recipes, and sharing our family’s recipes handed down over the years?’ he further suggested.

Many fans agreed, admitting that was a show that’d tune in to see.

In the humorous clip, Gordon is seen using his trademark bluntness to hurry the contestants along as they fall asleep in the kitchen.

The production company advised they were looking for children aged between nine and 14 to appear on the children’s version of the hit reality series.

The upcoming series was slated to be filmed in its Melbourne studios and required contestants to be available for six consecutive weeks around July/August 2020.
